Joining a Group Graduate Programme provides you with a unique opportunity to experience various sectors, understand what differentiates their businesses and where the commonalities are. Specifically, you may find yourself in placements at the heart of our Marine, Aviation, Defence or Nuclear business. This is a great foundation for an accelerated career as it will offer you broad experience and wide business exposure.
We ask all our graduates to be flexible and willing to move during the programme – you’ll need to be flexible about your location for these cross-sector roles as our different business areas have sites across the UK placing our specialism closer to the customer.
UNFORTUNATELY WE ARE NO LONGER ACCEPTING APPLICATIONS FOR THIS ROLE BUT IF WE DO NOT MEET OUR REQUIRED QUOTA WE WILL REOPEN THE ROLE SO PLEASE CHECK BACK ON A REGULAR BASIS.
WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING
You’ll gain the broadest exposure to company-based accounting and financial management. This will span both management accounting (with both overhead and project experience) and business tax accounting. You’ll work on projects across many different sectors, which will give you the kind of experiences and insights that are very hard to come by.
Every step of the way, you will be mentored towards Chartered Management Accountants status. We’ll support you to gain Associate of Chartered Management Accountants (ACMA) status, offered by CIMA. You’ll learn either through a tuition provider or via distance learning (we use Kaplan).
WHAT YOU’LL GET OUT OF IT
In a phrase: Chartered Management Accountant status. We’ll pay for you to get your qualification with CIMA and assign you a mentor to help you get there – with a competitive starting salary of £30k. In return, we expect you to attain chartership.
WHAT YOU’LL NEED
You’ll need a 2:2 (Hons) degree in Accountancy and Finance, Economics, Science or Engineering, with a good A-Level in Maths. You’ll also need to satisfy the MOD’s security requirements (and may need to complete a medical assessment).
* Depending on location, role and qualifications.
