Our epic projects generate some big numbers. And with circa £4.8bn revenue in 2016 and an order book of £20bn, our numbers need just as much expertise as our projects. Over the course of three years, you’ll move between different parts of our business to get an incredible overview of finance.

WHERE YOU CAN JOIN US

See the list below to find out more about the areas of our business that are offering places on our Accountancy and Finance programme for autumn 2017. But no matter which team you join, you could be based anywhere in the UK. That’s why we ask all our graduates to be flexible and willing to move during their programme.

We are no longer accepting applications for our 2017 intake for this programme. Please take a look around the site to find out more about our graduate programmes and what it’s like to work at Babcock. If you are interested in joining our autumn 2017 intake, keep an eye out early September 2017 when our applications will re-open.

GROUPLearn more and apply

Group is made up of a collection of teams that work across all of our business areas – such as Finance. This means that our business area has the biggest reach of all – and that’s a serious advantage for graduates who are looking to get a taste of a lot of different sectors. We recruit these roles centrally and offer placements with business areas across the UK, giving you lots of opportunity to gain varied expertise. For example, you could learn about the complex finance and accounting requirements of a capital-intensive global business working within Accountancy and Finance. You’ll also receive invaluable support to help you towards achieving Chartered Management Accountant status through CIMA.

OUR LOCATIONS

Expect to travel – you’ll need to be flexible about your location for these roles. As Group covers nearly everything, you could be based within any of our business areas across over 300 sites UK-wide.

WE WORK ON A ROLLING APPLICATION BASIS AND THIS ROLE IS NOW CLOSED WHILST WE REASSESS DEMAND AND CURRENT APPLICATIONS. IF REQUIRED, WE WILL REOPEN, SO PLEASE CHECK BACK ON A REGULAR BASIS.

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING

You’ll gain the broadest exposure to company-based accounting and financial management – including management accounting (with both overhead and project experience) and business tax accounting. You’ll work on projects across many different sectors which will give you the kind of experiences and insights that are very hard to come by.

And every step of the way you will be mentored towards chartered management accountant status. We’ll support you to gain Associate of Chartered Management Accountants (ACMA) status, offered by CIMA. You’ll learn either through a tuition provider or via distance learning (we use BPP and Kaplan).

WHAT YOU’LL GET OUT OF IT

In a phrase: Chartered Management Accountant status. We’ll pay for you to get your stripes with CIMA, and assign you a mentor to help you get there – with a competitive starting salary of £27,000 - £30,000. In return, we expect you to attain Chartership.

WHAT YOU’LL NEED

You’ll need a 2:2 (Hons) degree in Accountancy and Finance, Economics, Science or Engineering, with a good A-Level in Maths and 280 UCAS points (excluding General Studies). You’ll also need to satisfy the MOD’s security requirements (and may need to complete a medical assessment).
