Our technology, willingness to innovate and track record of improving efficiency provide us with a unique market position. At our Rosyth site, we are specialists in the design and engineering of complex marine platforms, as well as being the lead contractor for the UK Submarine Dismantling Programme and world leaders in the development and supply of Gas Systems. The site – ideally located for access to the North Sea – provides extensive docking and refitting services, and is one of the largest waterside manufacturing facilities in the UK.

Babcock is one of two suppliers of complex Missile Tube Assemblies (MTA) for the UK Dreadnought and US Columbia Submarine programmes. We have a proven reputation for the successful delivery of large-scale and complex projects, including the Queen Elizabeth Class aircraft carriers – the largest and most powerful vessels ever built for the UK Royal Navy. HMS Queen Elizabeth left the Rosyth site for sea trials in June 2017, and HMS Prince of Wales will follow suit in 2019. Babcock is in contract with Eastern Shipbuilding Group, based in Panama City, Florida, for delivery of the detail design of the Offshore Patrol Cutter (OPC) for the United States Coast Guard (USCG). The Babcock scope includes provision of all construction drawings, electrical power distribution design and auxiliary system design.
