The first new nuclear power plants in the UK in 20 years. The latest submarines. Record-breaking aircraft carriers. Our epic projects often make history. But they also need to make commercial sense. And on our two-year commercial programme, you’ll learn how we keep our balance sheets in shape.

WHERE YOU CAN JOIN US

See the list below to find out more about the areas of our business that are offering places on our Commercial programme for autumn 2017. But no matter which team you join, you could be based anywhere in the UK. That’s why we ask all our graduates to be flexible and willing to move during their programme.

We are no longer accepting applications for our 2017 intake for this programme. Please take a look around the site to find out more about our graduate programmes and what it’s like to work at Babcock. If you are interested in joining our autumn 2017 intake, keep an eye out early September 2017 when our applications will re-open.

In fact, we’re the largest supplier of equipment support services to the MOD. That’s a huge range of work for you to get involved in, covering everything from through-life support and end-to-end training to complete asset management solutions. So it’ll come as no surprise that we’re big on graduates having plenty of drive in this area. You’ll need it, with placements covering the whole of the UK and work that could see you undertaking firefighter training one day and undertaking a tank inspection the next.

All graduates in Defence and Security relocate every six months, so you need to be ready and willing to move throughout your programme.

MARINE AND TECHNOLOGY – PLYMOUTHLearn more and apply

We’re a strategic partner to the MOD and the Royal Navy, helping to improve efficiency at Devonport Royal Dockyard in Plymouth. Our unique facilities and infrastructure mean that we can undertake 100% of submarine refits, as well as around 75% of UK surface fleet refits and 50% of fleet maintenance work. Half of the Royal Navy surface fleet is base-ported in Devonport, including Type 23 frigates, the Amphibious Assault fleet, and their hydrographic vessels. That’s the kind of epic engineering projects we take care of. To get involved in them, you’ll need to have a technical grounding in your relevant field, along with the ability to think on your feet and challenge yourself. And because we love to help promote STEM subjects amongst kids, it would be great if you were up for getting involved with our work in local schools.
