A group of Babcock graduates from across our sites teamed up to demonstrate a range of STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) experiments designed to engage and inform 11 to 14 year olds. Amongst a number of locations at Devonport, they filmed on board HMS Bulwark for a series of programmes on a national children’s online radio station, Fun Kids Radio. Their experiments focused on the science behind ships and submarines, answering questions like ‘How do submarines make oxygen?’ and ‘How do ships float?’. Sarah Hilder, Graduate Project Engineer, commented: “It’s great to be inspiring the next generation of STEM students – we’re helping to create memories and experiences that might drive their futures."
