Our work includes supporting delivery of new build nuclear power plants, extending the working-life of existing nuclear plants and safely decommissioning legacy sites. OUR LOCATIONS

 

You could be based in a number of locations, so you will need to be ready and willing to move throughout your programme. You’ll probably call Warrington, Bristol, Leicester or Newbury home, but you could also work from client sites (including nuclear power stations, or Sellafield in Cumbria and Dounreay in Scotland).

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING

You will be a key team member on every placement. You may be involved with the assessment of options for waste treatment and disposal from nuclear decommissioning projects, which could include discussions with a range of stakeholders to optimise solutions or develop mitigations for implementation. Equally, you may be looking at environmental enhancement projects to improve the areas around client sites. You will also have opportunities to work with other specialists such as Hazard Management Consultants. The possibilities are many and varied. Whatever you work on, you can be sure you’ll be making a real difference.

WHAT YOU’LL GET OUT OF IT

The range of work you’ll cover will help you figure out what you excel at. And once you know that, we’ll help you go as far as you can. We’ll support you, with your own mentor, as you work to become a Chartered Environmentalist or Chartered Scientist and give you a competitive starting salary of £29k - £31k (depending on location, role and qualifications).

WHAT YOU’LL NEED

You’ll need a 2:1 BSc (Hons) degree in Physics, Engineering, Environmental Science/Studies or Chemistry (or related subjects). You’ll also need to satisfy the MOD’s security requirements (and may need to complete a medical assessment).
